Intimate and comfortable casino with all of the classic and modern table games with lavish and atmospheric high limit lounge. Treasure Island has shed its pirate theme for a more adult-oriented casino ambience, offering guests a personalised gaming experience that no other casino on the Strip can provide. With exciting nightlife and a great gaming floor ensures that guests keep coming back to Treasure Island for more.
Treasure Island Casino review
Treasure Island opened in 1993, seeking to attract families with its array of pirate-themed features. Many would come to the casino, recognise the Jolly Roger – a flag with a skull and crossbones – and know right away that they’d come to the right place for pirate-themed fun. Pirate battles were held nightly at Buccaneer Bay, and a large video arcade became one of the highlights of the hotel.
In 2003, however, the hotel largely abandoned its swashbuckling themes and opted for a more adult-oriented theme. The famous Jolly Roger was replaced by a large “TI” and a large LCD video screen. The pools, which had originally been child-friendly, were also replaced with hot tubs, and the exterior of the hotel was changed from orange to deep maroon.
MGM sold Treasure Island to Phil Ruffin in 2009, and it has since continued to evolve into a hotspot for casino gaming and relaxing amenities.
Gaming options
As part of their switch to more mature themes, the casino at Treasure Island was renovated to include almost every casino game you could think of. Whether it’s Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Baccarat, or Pai Gow, the gaming tables at the TI are sure to impress.
There are also beginner-friendly tables, so even the inexperienced are sure to have a good time at the casino. Its poker rooms have also often be touted as some of the friendliest in the city, holding regular cash games and tournaments.
Dining options
If you’re craving fresh seafood, TI is probably the best place to visit along the Strip. Featuring a Seafood Shack that has huge shrimp, shellfish, and steamed clams, one can definitely taste life on the high seas here. Of course, there’s also a steakhouse, a pizzeria, and places for authentic Asian cuisine.
Entertainment
Treasure Island once had an exclusive show called Sirens of TI, but renovations in the last few years forced the casino to discontinue the show. There are, however, live performances from some of the world’s greatest entertainers. The Cirque Du Soleil is a regular performer at TI, showcasing high-energy acrobatics and inspiring imagery, while comedians like Bill Cosby and Carlos Mencia also come to the casino to entertain guests.
Dress code
There is no dress code being implemented, but the TI keeps its whimsical vibe by encouraging guests to dress in costume when visiting bars.
Membership
Patrons who find themselves frequenting the casino may want to enrol in the TI Players Club rewards programme. Members enjoy benefits from earning competition points after regular casino plays. Comp points can then be redeemed at TI for a variety of services and merchandise.
